Fast, free Wi-Fi to expand across Delta’s trans-Pacific network

Delta says it has received regulatory approval to bring fast, free Wi-Fi to its trans-Pacific routes, according to a release dated Oct 9, 2026. The service is Delta Sync Wi-Fi, presented by T-Mobile.

When: Delta says the rollout begins later this month and will expand progressively across routes in the following weeks (as of Oct 12, 2026; confirm on news.delta.com). The release names no specific city pairs and no specific aircraft types for the Pacific rollout.

Why it matters: Delta says nearly 1,300 Wi-Fi-equipped aircraft are already flying, more than 95% of its fleet. Once the Pacific routes are switched on, Delta says it will be the only U.S. global carrier offering free Wi-Fi across its global network, spanning six continents. The release highlights the benefit on some of Delta's longest flights.

Because rollout is gradual, a given flight may not have it yet. Confirm on news.delta.com or Delta's Wi-Fi page before counting on it for a long-haul workday.
