Lufthansa Group adds Tokyo Narita and Nagoya for summer 2027
On Oct 6, 2026, the Lufthansa Group announced a larger Japan network for summer 2027, with up to 50 weekly flights across Lufthansa, Austrian, SWISS and ITA Airways to four Japanese destinations: Tokyo Haneda, Tokyo Narita, Osaka and Nagoya.
- Frankfurt–Tokyo Narita (Lufthansa): new daily service from March 28, 2027, flight LH710 out and LH711 back.
- Frankfurt–Nagoya (Lufthansa): resumes seasonally three times weekly (Mon, Wed, Sat) from March 29, 2027.
- Zurich–Tokyo Narita (SWISS): up to seven weekly flights in summer 2027.
- Frankfurt and Munich–Tokyo Haneda (Lufthansa): existing daily service continues.
Lufthansa says both new routes use the Boeing 787-9 in its Allegris layout, with 28 Business, 28 Premium Economy and 231 Economy seats. The release does not give aircraft or times for SWISS, and it does not detail Austrian, ITA Airways or Osaka service. It says the flights are bookable now. All dates are as of Oct 12, 2026; confirm on the Lufthansa Group newsroom. The release is in German; the details above are our summary.
Miles angle. Star Alliance partners such as United MileagePlus and Air Canada Aeroplan can price Lufthansa-operated flights, though none of those programs are on our transfer chart, so check availability in each program directly. Planning ground time in Japan? See our Tokyo guide.
Schedules can change before launch, so confirm times and availability on the official Lufthansa Group page before booking.
