Who this is for
These are mid-size ships, so they suit travelers who want a sailing with real glacier or port time and a familiar set of dining rooms without the crowds of the largest ships. Couples and friend groups who want a calmer day on deck will find the quieter corners. Families can sail them too, but they are not built around water slides or large kids' parks, and Celebrity's ship pages do not list such features as of 2026-10-16. Not confirmed on https://www.celebritycruises.com/cruise-ships/celebrity-summit.
If you want a big-resort feel with a dozen pools, look at a larger class. If you want to be close to the water, a smaller ship may still suit you better than this one.
What the week looks like
Summit's itinerary page names these Alaska ports and sights: Icy Strait Point, Skagway, Hubbard Glacier, Ketchikan, the Inside Passage and Seward (checked Oct 16, 2026). Our sample week strings them together as a Vancouver-to-Seward pattern with two sea days, one of them for the glacier. Which embarkation port, direction and order apply to your date is not confirmed on https://www.celebritycruises.com/cruise-ships/celebrity-summit, so treat our day-by-day chapter as a planning model and check the itinerary search for the sailing you want.
The mistakes first-timers make
The most common one is booking a flight that lands the same morning you board. If your flight is late, the ship leaves without you. Land the day before, or at least early enough to clear the airport and the terminal with hours to spare. The second is leaving restaurant reservations to the last minute; specialty rooms fill first on sea days. The third is leaving the passport at the bottom of a checked bag: you need it at the terminal, and baggage check-in at Canada Place opens between 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Pacific time on sailing day (checked Oct 16, 2026).
Rough cost, three ways
Cabin fares change daily, so we give you the fields to fill, not a number. Open the official search at celebritycruises.com and write down what you see for your date.

Three free things
- Watch the shoreline from the open deck during the Inside Passage day. Bring a layer and binoculars. Photo: The Inside Passage from the upper deck of a cruise ship.
- Walk the Vancouver waterfront before you board. Canada Place sits next to Waterfront station, so a stroll along the harbor costs nothing and gives you a look at the terminal from outside (checked Oct 16, 2026). Photo: Canada Place on the Vancouver waterfront.
- Walk Ketchikan's Creek Street boardwalk. It is a short walk from the cruise docks and costs nothing to look. Photo: Creek Street boardwalk in Ketchikan.
How to pay with points
You usually cannot book a Celebrity cabin straight with airline miles. The practical routes are card travel portals (Chase, Capital One, Amex) that sell cruises, or paying cash with a card that earns well and using points for the flights to your port. For Vancouver, a United, Air Canada (Aeroplan) or Alaska-family flight often makes sense: Chase moves points to United 1:1, and Chase, Amex, Capital One and Bilt all move to Aeroplan 1:1 (from PerkJolt's verified transfer chart, checked 2026-10-08; confirm on the program's transfer page before moving points). Then compare against the cash fare using the rule in the full guide.
Booking rules in brief
Deposit size, final-payment date and the refund schedule vary by fare type and sailing, and Celebrity's FAQ says only that you receive a booking invoice once your deposit is made (checked Oct 16, 2026). Read the cancellation table in your own booking before you pay, and put the final-payment date in your calendar the day you book. Not confirmed on https://www.celebritycruises.com/faq: exact deposit amounts and refund windows.
Before you go
Write down the number on the line's FAQ page for reservations help, 1-888-751-7804 (checked Oct 16, 2026), and screenshot your booking confirmation, because you will need it at terminal screening (checked Oct 16, 2026). Pack a rain shell and a warm mid-layer even in midsummer; glacier mornings are cold on deck. The full guide that follows has the deck-by-deck tour, the cabin picks, the dining plan and a printable day-by-day.
This is the free lite guide. The full day-by-day guide, with maps, photo stops, rain plans and the points playbook, is part of PerkJolt All-Access.
