IHG Passes 1,000 Open Hotels in Europe

IHG Hotels & Resorts announced on October 22, 2026 that it has more than 1,000 open hotels in Europe .

The numbers

IHG says it added more than 210 European hotels over the past three years, a net system size growth of over 25%, and has more than 280 hotels in the European pipeline. Since the start of 2024 it has made 36 opening debuts of individual brands in new European countries, excluding Ruby; recent debuts include Iceland, Sweden and Greece .

Recent openings named

The release names The Hari London (Vignette Collection, 85 rooms, Belgravia), Ruby Lilou Hotel Marseille (Ruby's debut in France) and Crowne Plaza Vienna (195 rooms, Margareten district). Crowne Plaza has 98 open and 21 pipeline hotels in Europe, and Vignette Collection has 13 open .

Why it matters for points travelers

More properties means more places to use IHG One Rewards, which IHG says has more than 160 million members. The release does not announce any new award pricing, promotion or program change, and it names no upcoming openings, so check the hotel's own page for rates and award availability.
