Alaska’s Aurora and Hawaiian’s Leihōkū bring lie-flat suites, with Premium Reserve set for 2028

Alaska Air Group used its third-quarter results to put names on its next generation of premium cabins. Aurora is Alaska's new premium product, described as "spacious lie flat suites" with exclusive check-in, concierge access and upgraded dining. It will fly on Alaska's Boeing 787 fleet and on select transcontinental routes operated by new 737-10 MAX aircraft (checked Oct 24, 2026).
Hawaiian Airlines gets its own version, called Leihōkū, with the same lie-flat suites and services on Hawaiian's A330 fleet. Below that, Premium Reserve is a premium economy product set to debut in 2028 on Alaska's 787-9 and 787-10, select 737-10 MAX aircraft, and Hawaiian's A330s (checked Oct 24, 2026).
What the release does not say
The release gives no launch date for Aurora or Leihōkū, no suite counts and no route list, so there is nothing to book yet. It also does not say how these cabins will be priced or whether they will be bookable with Atmos Rewards points. Treat everything beyond the product names and the 2028 Premium Reserve timing as unannounced.
What to do
If you plan long-haul trips on Alaska or Hawaiian in 2027, keep an eye on the aircraft type before you book, since the new suites will only be on specific fleets and routes. As of Oct 24, 2026; confirm on news.alaskaair.com and the airline's own route pages before you plan around any of these products.
