How much does parking cost at Waikiki hotels?

Short answer: Most Waikiki hotels charge by the night, and the range is wide. The larger resorts we checked list self-parking at $55 to $72.25, and smaller hotels run from the high $40s up. Valet is often the only option and usually costs more.

The details

Here are the nightly rates posted by each hotel or its brand. Rates are per vehicle per day or night unless noted.

  • Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort: Self-parking is $55 a day, or $7.50 per hour. Valet is $65 a day.
  • Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa: Self-parking is listed "from $65" and valet "from $80." The "from" wording means the price can vary, so confirm at booking.
  • Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach: Self-parking is $55 and valet is $60.
  • Hilton Hawaiian Village: Self-parking in the garage is $72.25 a day, valet is $93.19, and oversized vehicles are $115.18. In/out privileges are available. The Hilton Grand Vacations Club at the same resort lists $69 for self-parking and $89 for valet.
  • Wayfinder Waikiki: Valet only, at $49 per vehicle per night, or $57 for oversized vehicles. Valet depends on availability. If it is full, guests can use overnight self-parking at a neighboring hotel for $35 per 24 hours, with no in/out privileges.
  • Luana Waikiki Hotel & Suites: Overnight valet is $50 per night plus tax, with in/out privileges.
  • Stay Hotel Waikiki: Very limited self-parking at $45 per night plus tax, with unlimited in/out privileges. The hotel says the rate can change without notice and spaces are first-come, first-served.

Parking is often a separate charge from the nightly amenity or resort fee. For example, Wayfinder Waikiki lists a $37-plus-tax amenity fee , and Stay Hotel Waikiki lists $15 plus tax . Whether tax applies to parking varies by hotel, so ask at booking.

Tips

  • Do the math for your whole stay. At the Sheraton's self-park rate, five nights comes to $275 before tax (5 × $55). Use the same multiplication for your hotel.
  • Ask whether in/out privileges are included. If you plan to drive to the North Shore and come back, a hotel without them could charge you again. Hilton Hawaiian Village, Luana and Stay Hotel list them. Wayfinder's overflow lot does not.
  • Don't rent a car for the Waikiki days. If you only need a car for a day trip or two, rent for just those days. Then you pay for hotel parking on fewer nights.
  • Check vehicle size. Hilton Hawaiian Village and Wayfinder both charge more for oversized vehicles. Wayfinder defines that as 18 feet or longer, or taller than 6 feet 6 inches.
  • Compare with public garages. Public lots near Waikiki are often cheaper per night than hotel garages. Their rates change often, so check the operator's own site. Overnight rules for outside guests vary.

FAQ

Is parking free at any Waikiki hotel?

Rarely at the big resorts. Every hotel above charges for it. Some condo-style rentals and elite-status perks may include parking, but that varies by property and program. Confirm in writing with the hotel before you count on it.

Is valet or self-parking cheaper in Waikiki?

Self-parking is cheaper where it exists. The Sheraton is $55 against $65 for valet, and Hilton Hawaiian Village is $72.25 against $93.19. Some hotels, such as Wayfinder and Luana, only offer valet, so there's no choice.

Do I pay for parking per night or per 24 hours?

It depends on the hotel. Some bill by calendar day, others by 24-hour period. Wayfinder's overflow option is described as a 24-hour period. Ask your hotel how a late checkout or an early-morning departure is counted.

Does the parking fee include tax?

Not always. Luana and Stay Hotel list their rates as plus tax. Hotels may also add taxes at checkout even when the web page shows a flat figure. Ask the front desk for the all-in nightly cost before you arrive.

Can I get a cheaper rate than the posted one?

Posted rates are what most guests pay. Hotels may waive parking for certain loyalty tiers or packages, but that varies. Check your loyalty program's benefits page and your reservation terms before you arrive.
