Are there good Hyatt, Marriott or Hilton hotels in Lisbon to book with points?
Yes. Lisbon has real options from all three, but they sit in different places and suit different trips. Hyatt has the best location now that the Andaz is open in Baixa. Marriott has the most choice. Hilton is mostly small boutique Curio hotels, so check which one you are looking at.
Who it's for (and who should skip it)
Pick Hyatt if you want to be in the old center, or you hold a World of Hyatt free night certificate. Andaz Lisbon is the central one. Hyatt Regency Lisbon is the quieter riverside one.
Pick Marriott if you want choice. Lisbon has a Sheraton near the center, a Residence Inn with kitchens, a big business-style Marriott and more. It also suits you if your points are flexible Bilt, Chase or Amex points, because they all move to Marriott at 1:1 (see transfer partners).
Pick Hilton if you like boutique hotels with character and want to use Hilton points or status. Don't expect a big Hilton-branded resort in the middle of the old town.
Skip the points-only approach if your dates fall in a peak week. Hyatt now prices nights on a five-level scale, so a night that looks cheap in the shoulder season can cost far more in summer. Compare points against cash every time.
Hyatt: two hotels, two very different locations
Andaz Lisbon (Baixa). Hyatt announced the opening of Andaz Lisbon on March 11, 2026, the Andaz brand's debut in Portugal (checked Oct 12, 2026). It is a 170-room property in Lisbon's historic Baixa area, with local materials and a rooftop restaurant (checked Oct 12, 2026). The address is 132 Rua do Comércio, between Praça do Comércio and Rua Augusta (checked Oct 12, 2026).
Two practical points. At opening, a spa was still forthcoming, though in-room spa services were available (checked Oct 12, 2026). If a spa matters to you, ask the hotel whether it is open yet. We also haven't confirmed which Hyatt award category Andaz Lisbon sits in, so look it up on its Hyatt page before you plan a certificate redemption.
Hyatt Regency Lisbon (Belém). It has 204 rooms and suites in Belém with Tagus River views (checked Oct 12, 2026). The address is Rua da Junqueira, 65 (checked Oct 12, 2026). Lisbon's tourism board describes it as a 5-minute drive from the historic downtown (checked Oct 12, 2026). In plain terms, that is a short ride, not a stroll, to Baixa and Alfama. It is much closer to Belém's monuments. Per the hotel's own page, it is next to the Lisbon Congress Centre (checked Oct 12, 2026). Facilities include a 1,000 m² spa and a gym (checked Oct 12, 2026), and the hotel lists an indoor pool.
The points math. When one editor reviewed it in 2024, the Hyatt Regency Lisbon was a Category 4 property (checked Oct 12, 2026). Hyatt then reshuffled categories on May 20, 2026. That change moved 112 properties up and 24 down (checked Oct 12, 2026). We can't confirm today's category for the Regency, so check its Hyatt page before you rely on a Category 1–4 certificate.
If it is still Category 4, the numbers look like this. Category 4 award nights now run from 12,000 to 25,000 points (checked Oct 12, 2026). Since May 20, 2026, each category prices at five levels instead of the old off-peak, standard and peak (checked Oct 12, 2026). The Category 1–4 certificate is the traditional way to use this hotel. The World of Hyatt Credit Card gives one each year on your account anniversary (checked Oct 12, 2026).
For flexible points, Bilt moves to Hyatt at 1:1 (see transfer partners). Chase also transfers to Hyatt, and the same page has the ratio.
Verdict. Andaz is the better pick for a first visit to Lisbon. The Regency suits families, conference travelers and anyone who wants a pool and a quieter base.
Marriott Bonvoy: the widest choice
Marriott's Lisbon page lists these hotels in or near the city:
- Sheraton Lisboa Hotel & Spa. Marriott lists it at 0.7 mi from the city center, with an outdoor pool and rooftop bar (checked Oct 12, 2026). It is the safest all-rounder for a central stay.
- Residence Inn by Marriott Lisbon. It is an extended-stay hotel in central Lisbon with suites and full kitchens (checked Oct 12, 2026). The address is Avenida da República, 58, and free breakfast is offered (checked Oct 12, 2026). That suits families and longer stays.
- Lisbon Marriott Hotel. The address is Avenida dos Combatentes 45, and the hotel does not provide a shuttle (checked Oct 12, 2026). The hotel's own page lists a swimming pool and a newly renovated gym. It is a classic points-redemption hotel, with big rooms and an easy-to-book feel. It is not in the walkable old town.
- Moxy Lisboa Oriente. It appears in Marriott's listing as well. Oriente is the modern district near the Parque das Nações waterfront, a good fit for budget-minded points stays, short layovers and trade-fair trips.
- Praia D'El Rey Marriott Golf & Beach Resort. Marriott lists it 46.8 mi from the destination (checked Oct 12, 2026). That is a resort day trip, not a Lisbon base.
The same Marriott listing shows a Moxy Lisbon City, and an Altis Belém Hotel & Spa also appears among Marriott-bookable hotels. We haven't verified their programs, so confirm each on marriott.com.
We aren't quoting Marriott award prices. Bonvoy prices move with dates, and the numbers we saw were cash rates from an old search date. Look at the points-and-cash calendar for your dates on each hotel's page.
Transfers: Chase, Amex and Bilt points all go to Marriott at 1:1, per our chart. That makes Marriott an easy home for flexible points, though Marriott points are usually worth less per point than airline miles, so compare against cash first.
Hilton: boutique Curios and a DoubleTree
Hilton's Lisbon page showed 11 hotels last we checked (checked Oct 12, 2026). The list also includes some partner properties that aren't Hilton-branded, so open each hotel's page and confirm that Hilton Honors points are accepted.
- DUO Hotel Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton. Rua Dom Luís I 18, with check-in at 3 pm and check-out at 12 pm (checked Oct 12, 2026). The rooms are non-smoking, with free WiFi and an on-site restaurant (checked Oct 12, 2026).
- The Emerald House Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton. It has 67 rooms, and the National Museum of Ancient Art is a minute away (checked Oct 12, 2026). It is small and artsy, on Rua das Janelas Verdes, and good for couples.
- DoubleTree by Hilton Lisbon – Fontana Park. It is 400 meters from the Saldanha metro station (checked Oct 12, 2026). Saldanha is on the Red Line, the same line that serves the airport.
- Hampton by Hilton Lisbon City Centre Baixa. Hilton's Portugal listing showed it as "Coming Soon" (checked Oct 12, 2026). Check the opening date before you plan around it.
Hilton also announced a Canopy by Hilton in Praça São Paulo. The announcement covered Canopy by Hilton Lisbon Praça Sao Paulo, DUO Hotel Lisbon and Hampton by Hilton Lisbon Baixa (checked Oct 12, 2026). We didn't find an opening date, so treat the Canopy as not yet bookable until hilton.com shows it.
Transfers: Bilt moves to Hilton at 1:1, and Amex moves at 1:2 (see transfer partners). Hilton points are usually worth much less per point than Hyatt or Marriott points, so check the cash price first.
Getting from the airport
Lisbon Airport has a Metro station with a direct line to the city center, and the "Aeroporto – Saldanha" line reaches downtown in about 20 minutes (checked Oct 12, 2026). That makes the DoubleTree area easy. For Baixa, you change lines. You switch to the green line at Alameda, or the blue line at São Sebastião (checked Oct 12, 2026). Metro hours and fares change, so check Metropolitano de Lisboa's own site.
Tips and tricks
- Match the hotel to the neighborhood. Andaz, DUO and The Emerald House put you in or near the historic core. Hyatt Regency is in Belém. The Lisbon Marriott and Residence Inn are in modern central-north Lisbon.
- Check Hyatt's five-level pricing by date. The same room can cost far more points in peak weeks than in quiet ones. Spend a certificate when the cash rate is high.
- Use the 5th-night benefit on longer stays. One guide notes that Marriott offers a 5th night free on reward bookings for all members, and Hilton does for members with status (checked Oct 12, 2026). Confirm the current rules on each program's page.
- Compare points against cash in euros. Hilton's pages show prices that include taxes and fees. For point values, compare the whole stay price, not just the room rate.
- Look at the Residence Inn for families. A kitchen and free breakfast can save more than a cheap room.
- Don't count on a hotel shuttle. The Lisbon Marriott Hotel says it has none, so budget for the Metro or a ride.
- Ask about the spa and rooftop before you book. Andaz's spa was still forthcoming at opening. Facilities at new hotels change.
- Book flexible rates, then re-check. Award nights usually cancel cheaply, so you can lock a room and keep watching prices.
Worked example (illustrative)
Say you're spending four nights in Lisbon in spring, using a Hyatt certificate and some flexible points.
- Nights 1–2: Andaz Lisbon. Price a points night and the cash rate for your dates. If the points price is high, pay cash and save your certificate.
- Nights 3–4: Hyatt Regency Lisbon. If it still sits in a category your Category 1–4 certificate covers, check that the date falls in a band that works. Certificates cover the category even when the points price is at the top of the range.
- If Hyatt doesn't work: try the Sheraton for a central Marriott stay, or DUO for a Hilton boutique stay. Compare each against the cash rate.
- Arrival day: take the Red Line from the airport and change as needed, as above.
We haven't priced this in euros or points, since award and cash prices vary by date.
FAQ
Is there a Hyatt in central Lisbon?
Yes. Andaz Lisbon is in the Baixa, on Rua do Comércio between Praça do Comércio and Rua Augusta, and it opened in 2026. The other Hyatt, the Hyatt Regency Lisbon, is in Belém, a short ride west of the old center. Check each hotel's Hyatt page for the current award category.
Can I use a Hyatt free night certificate in Lisbon?
Possibly. The Hyatt Regency Lisbon was Category 4 in an early-2024 review, but Hyatt moved 136 properties between categories in May 2026. Check the Regency's current category on its Hyatt page. We haven't confirmed the Andaz category, so check that too.
Which Marriott is best in Lisbon?
For a central stay, the Sheraton Lisboa Hotel & Spa is the safest bet, at roughly 0.7 miles from the center according to Marriott. The Residence Inn suits families, with full kitchens and free breakfast. The Lisbon Marriott Hotel is a bigger hotel outside the walkable old town and has no shuttle.
Does Hilton have many hotels in Lisbon?
Hilton's Lisbon page showed 11 hotels last we checked, but they include non-Hilton partner properties. The Hilton-branded ones we found were DUO Hotel Lisbon and The Emerald House (both Curio Collection) and the DoubleTree Fontana Park. A Hampton in Baixa was marked "Coming Soon" on Hilton's Portugal page. Check hilton.com for current status.
Which points transfer to these hotels?
Per our chart, Bilt moves to Hyatt, Marriott and Hilton at 1:1. Chase and Amex both move to Marriott at 1:1, and Amex moves to Hilton at 1:2. Chase also transfers to Hyatt. See our transfer partners page for ratios and any limits.
Is it easy to get from the airport to these hotels?
Mostly. Lisbon Airport has a Metro station, and the Red Line reaches downtown in about 20 minutes per the airport. You'll need to change lines for Baixa. The DoubleTree is about 400 meters from Saldanha, which is on the Red Line.
