British Airways Holidays to Pay Six Avios Per £1 on Full Package Price

British Airways said on Oct 21, 2026 that it is changing how Avios are earned on British Airways Holidays packages. (checked Oct 23, 2026)
What changes
Starting Nov 24, 2026, British Airways Club members booking a BA Holidays package earn 6 Avios per £1 spent on the total package price. Until now, Avios were earned only on the flight element, and the lead passenger could earn 1 bonus Avios per £1 on the total booking. The total is divided equally among travellers, and each member can keep their share or pool it in a Household Account, which BA says is free and holds up to seven people. Tier points are still earned individually. (checked Oct 23, 2026)
BA's worked example
For a two-person package to Crete at £1,886 per person, BA says the lead booker earned 5,462 Avios and the second traveller 1,690 under the old model. Under the new model each traveller earns 11,316 Avios, more than 20,000 combined. BA notes 11,316 Avios would cover a one-way off-peak Economy reward flight to Paris at 10,000 Avios plus £2.50. What the release leaves out
The release does not give full terms, exclusions, how deposits or part-payments are treated, or a tier point rate. Whether a package beats booking flights and hotels separately depends on the package price, so compare cash cost first. The change takes effect Nov 24, 2026; as of Oct 23, 2026; confirm on https://www.ba.com.
