  • The promise: a plain-English look at the French river-cruise line that bundles meals, drinks, Wi-Fi and excursions into one fare, so you can decide in ten minutes whether it fits your trip.
  • Trip length: the homepage shows offers of 4 or 5 days on the Rhine and Danube, and longer sailings elsewhere .

  • Best for: travelers who like a smaller boat, set mealtimes, wine at lunch and dinner, and few decisions.

At a glance

  • The line describes its boats as "à taille humaine" (human-sized) and says it runs about 50 boats and barges .
  • Fleet capacity runs from 16 to 200 passengers; European river ships carry 80 to 160 .
  • All-inclusive on board covers meals, drinks at meals and at the bar, shore excursions and free Wi-Fi .
  • Champagne, Grands Crus and the special wine list or bar card cost extra, as do personal items and gratuities (same page).
  • Port taxes are listed as included in the package .
  • Suggested tip: €5 ≈ $5.59 to 10 per person per day, left in an envelope at reception .
  • Cabins have an exterior view; some have French balconies or private terraces .
  • U.S. State Department lists France at Level 2 (issued 10/21/2026) .

Three free things to do before you book

  1. Read the "These prices do not include" section of the exact cruise program you are eyeing. Excursions, flights and gratuities are handled differently from one program to the next, so this one section tells you the real total.
  2. Open the sale terms for your market and read the cancellation table. On the U.S. terms for 2026, a European river or canal cruise cancelled more than 90 days out costs $200 per person; inside 30 days it is 100% of the package .
  3. Check your passport. For France the State Department says it must be valid 3 months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen area, with at least one blank page .

How a day on board works

Picture a long, low boat tied up beside a riverside promenade. The day starts with a continental buffet: pastries, cereals, fruit, breads, cold meats, eggs, yogurt, coffee and tea. Lunch and dinner are each served in a single seating at fixed times, as three courses built around French cooking with local touches . Wines chosen to go with the meals are part of the fare, apart from the special wine list (same page). In between, you are on the sun deck, in the lounge, or ashore on an excursion or a wander from the quay. Evenings bring shows, live music, dance evenings or themed nights, depending on the sailing .

What costs extra

The official list of extras is short and worth memorizing: Champagne and Grands Crus from the special wine list or bar card, personal items, and gratuities . Add flights, any optional excursion packages (sold in "Classic" and "Discovery" styles), and travel insurance, which the U.S. terms strongly recommend and treat as non-refundable once bought .

Cabins in one paragraph

Cabins are air-conditioned with an exterior view, and some have French balconies or private terraces; Premium ships offer more cabin space . The line says all cabins on each deck have an exterior view . Ask for the deck plan of your exact boat, and choose a cabin a deck or more away from the lounge if you sleep lightly.

Loyalty and families in brief

Croisiclub has five tiers, from Bronze at 0 to 29 points up to VIP at 500 or more; Platinum gets 5% off each cruise purchase and VIP gets 10% . On the U.S. terms, children from 2 to 9 inclusive get 20% off the cruise fare and under-2s have meals and accommodation covered .

Where to go next

Comparing lines? Our guides to Uniworld and AmaWaterways on the Rhine cover the larger, more upscale river ships. CroisiEurope's draw is the smaller boat, the French table and the bundled drinks. The full guide covers fleet, cabins, dining, fees, Croisiclub, family rules, booking order, paying with points, a cost sheet and a printable page. It also walks through the questions worth asking an agent before you pay, such as which sales market's terms apply to you, how the single-cabin supplement is priced, and which excursions are in the fare versus sold as optional packages. If you are flying in on points, the points chapter shows how to run an award search and a cash search side by side and decide with your own numbers, using only the transfer ratios on our chart checked 2026-10-08.

What's not worth it in the lite guide: do not pay for a "deck upgrade" or a pre-trip hotel package before you know which airport you will use; both decisions get easier once you have read the program page.

This is the free lite guide. The full day-by-day guide, with maps, photo stops, rain plans and the points playbook, is part of PerkJolt All-Access.

Good to know before you go

This page was checked on 2026-10-21. Packages, fees, itineraries and port calls change between seasons, and the company publishes different terms for different sales markets. Confirm everything on CroisiEurope's official page or app before you book or sail.
