Delta 2027 Medallion Status: The MQD Thresholds You Need and When Earning Ends

Delta's 2027 Medallion status is earned with Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) spent during calendar year 2026, and the thresholds are unchanged from the prior structure, according to Delta's own pages. Note: we could not locate a separate Delta announcement dated October 22, 2026, so this post rests on Delta's standing qualification page and its news site; confirm the timing of any new notice before sending.

The 2027 thresholds

Delta's How to Qualify page lists these MQD requirements for 2027 status :

Delta's news site separately said the thresholds to qualify for 2027 are "staying the same," with no added requirements . That article is dated December 2, 2025 and does not itself list the dollar figures.

Timing

• Earning window: 2027 status is earned from spending during January 1 to December 31, 2026 . As of Oct 23, 2026, that leaves about two months; confirm on https://www.delta.com/us/en/skymiles/medallion-program/how-to-qualify.
• Validity: 2027 status runs from the date it is earned through January 31, 2028 .
• Reset: MQDs reset on or about January 1 each year .

Posting delays to plan around

Delta's page says MQDs from a Delta-marketed flight can take up to 6 to 8 weeks to post after the flight, and card-spend boosts may take 8 to 12 weeks after the transaction posts . For a traveler near a threshold, late-year activity may not show up in time to be counted, so check balances early and confirm cutoffs on Delta's site.
