Fairmont Mayakoba’s Beach Promise Covers Sargassum Days
Fairmont Mayakoba, in Mayakoba on the Riviera Maya near Playa del Carmen, has a "Beach Promise" aimed at sargassum season. Under the terms on the resort's Beach Promise page, if beach access is impossible or severely restricted by sargassum, and the resort's Watersports team confirms it, the guest receives one complimentary night on a next visit. The promise is valid Sept 14 to Dec 20, 2026 (as of Oct 11, 2026; confirm on fairmont-mayakoba.com/beach-promise/).
The bar is high on purpose: minor pieces of seaweed do not qualify. To claim, report the issue at the Front Desk during the stay. Reservations then issues a gift certificate valid for 12 months.
The fine print matters. The offer excludes groups, buyouts and high season, and it cannot be combined with other promotions. The free night is room-only (European Plan), in the original room category, and it is non-transferable. Everything is subject to availability and change without notice.
Fairmont is an Accor brand. If you are comparing Riviera Maya options, see our Cancún guide and our Tulum and Playa del Carmen guide.
Treat this as a limited make-good for a future stay, not a refund, and read the full terms on the resort's page before booking.
