Hilton and Scandic Sign Multi-Year Nordic Hotel Development Deal
Scandic Hotels Group announced on Oct 19, 2026 that it has signed a multi-year development agreement with Hilton covering Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. The company says the deal combines Scandic's position in the Nordics with Hilton's global brand portfolio and is expected to create new hotel development opportunities (checked Oct 25, 2026).
Loyalty: not decided yet
The release says the companies are exploring future benefits for Hilton Honors and Scandic Friends members. That is the part points travelers care about, and nothing has been announced: no linked status, point transfers or Hilton-branded hotel names for the region appear on the page we opened. The page also does not disclose financial terms or the number of planned hotels.
What to do
Nothing yet. If you hold Hilton Honors points and travel to the Nordics, keep booking as you do today and watch for a follow-up on how Honors would work at any Hilton-branded hotel in the region. This is as of Oct 25, 2026; confirm current Honors terms on hilton.com and Scandic's program on scandichotels.com.
