What this is

MSC Fantasia, MSC Splendida, MSC Divina and MSC Preziosa are the four ships we group as the Fantasia class. MSC's ship list shows all four carrying a "MSC Yacht Club" label . They are big, Europe-first ships, and that shapes everything about the experience: announcements in several languages, a mixed-nationality guest list on many sailings, and a ship-within-a-ship Yacht Club for those who want a quieter, key-card-only part of the vessel. The full guide covers all of this in eleven chapters. This lite version gives you the shape of it and three included things worth knowing.

At a glance

  • MSC's Yacht Club page names all four ships in its Top Sail Lounge list, though its Private Solarium list omits Splendida . The Yacht Club is a separate booking; confirm it is sold on your sailing.
  • Typical regions as MSC describes them for Fantasia: Mediterranean, and in winter the Canary Islands and Madeira. Confirm each ship's own page.
  • Homeports vary by season. Barcelona, Genoa and Civitavecchia are common for Mediterranean cruises, but confirm your sailing's homeport on your booking.
  • Book the Experience tier carefully: Bella assigns your cabin close to sailing, Fantastica lets you choose, Aurea adds suite and spa perks .
  • Drink packages do not include everyone automatically, and groups who want to share specialty dining must hold the same package type .
  • Points: the Voyagers Club page we opened describes no credit card transfer partner . You can still pay a fare through a card travel portal and use points for flights to the homeport.
  • A common first-timer slip: booking the cheapest "Bella" cabin and then being surprised by an obstructed view or a promenade-deck location.

Three free things aboard (included as of 2026-10-17 — confirm with your experience tier)

  1. Main dining room dinner. Included with the fare. Photo subject: a generic cruise main dining room set for dinner with white tablecloths and warm lighting.
  2. Pool deck access and the sun deck. Included for all; the ship's page names a pool complex and a "Top 18" sun deck. Photo subject: the funnel and sun deck of a large Mediterranean cruise ship in morning light.
  3. Theatre shows. The page names a Main Theater, and the evening shows are part of the fare. Photo subject: a generic empty cruise theatre with tiered seating and stage lights.

Fantastica and Aurea tiers add a free continental breakfast delivered to your cabin ; for Bella, the page lists the same breakfast with a delivery charge.

How to choose in five minutes

Start with the Experience tier, because it decides how much control you have. If you must know your cabin location, book Fantastica or Aurea. If you are flexible and want the lowest fare, Bella is the budget route, and MSC's page says plainly that the cabin is assigned up to four days before departure and may be obstructed . Next, decide whether the Yacht Club is worth it for you. Its page lists a private restaurant, a grill and bar, a private solarium, butler service and an included premium drink package, all in a key-card-only area at the front of the ship . Finally, choose your homeport by flight convenience, not by the ship, since the ships are alike in spirit and the port decides your airport, your night-before hotel and your transfer.

Honest negatives

These are large ships and the public areas can feel busy on sea days. The pool and aquapark zone is the loud heart of the ship. Announcements and programs may run in several languages, which some guests enjoy and others find tiring. Specialty dining and drinks add up quickly, and the rules for sharing specialty meals require everyone at the table to hold the same drink package type. Finally, we could not confirm year, tonnage or capacity for these ships from the pages we opened, so check them yourself.

Cost basics

Build your own budget: fare per person from MSC's fare page (you fill it in), plus service charges and gratuities that MSC lists at booking, plus drinks, specialty dining, excursions and flights. We do not quote a sailing's cabin price. Beverage gratuities are included inside the drink packages, per MSC's drinks page .

Who this suits

Travelers who want a large ship with many bars and a theatre, who are comfortable in a multilingual environment, and who may want the option of a suite-level Yacht Club experience. It suits less well anyone who needs a quiet, mostly English-speaking, small-ship feel.

Before you book

Open the individual ship page for the exact vessel and sailing, read its venue list, and note the homeport. Compare the fare in MSC's own booking flow with the same sailing in a card travel portal if you plan to pay with points, and read the change and cancellation terms of whichever channel you use. Price the flight to the homeport separately, since that is where transferable points usually give the best result. Finally, plan to arrive in the homeport city the day before you sail.

Entry and safety

Petty crime is the practical risk in busy tourist areas and on public transport, according to the Italy advisory. Keep valuables out of back pockets and bags that open easily.

Good to know before you go

We checked the facts below on 2026-10-17 against MSC's own pages and the U.S. State Department. Fares, fees, itineraries, port calls and policies change, sometimes after you book. Confirm everything on msccruisesusa.com or in your booking and the MSC app before you sail.
