What the week looks like
The sample sailing starts in Nice and visits Sanary-sur-Mer, Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Portofino, Livorno and Portoferraio on Elba before ending at Civitavecchia for Rome (checked Oct 16, 2026). Most calls run from morning to late evening, which leaves time for a walk ashore, a swim from the marina and a long dinner aboard (checked Oct 16, 2026). Two of those days (Saint-Tropez and Cannes) usually mean anchoring and going ashore by tender, so pack shoes that handle a wet landing (checked Oct 16, 2026).
Booking rules in brief
A 25% deposit or full payment is due on or before your option date, and full payment is due 90 days before departure (checked Oct 16, 2026). Cancel more than 120 days out and the line refunds what you paid minus a US $200 per booking administration fee; inside 120 days the penalty starts at 25% of the fare and climbs to 100% in the last 30 days (checked Oct 16, 2026). That is the main reason to hold off on non-refundable flights until your dates feel firm.
Packing and dress in one paragraph
Daytime dress is country-club casual; at dinner and evening events the line asks you to skip jeans, shorts, t-shirts, flip-flops, torn clothing and swimwear, and there are no formal nights (checked Oct 16, 2026). All luggage must fit in your stateroom, and the line says there is no extra storage (checked Oct 16, 2026). Bring one good pair of walking shoes, a swimsuit and a light layer, and leave the suit and gown at home.
Who this is for
SeaDream suits adults who want a quiet, small-ship week and would rather anchor off Saint-Tropez than sail a floating resort. It is a poor fit for families with young children: guests under 18 must travel with an adult over 18, and the line states there are no children's programs or babysitting onboard (checked Oct 16, 2026). It also does not suit anyone who wants production shows, waterslides or a long list of restaurants; the onboard page describes a dining salon, a piano bar, a casino and movies on the pool deck, not a large entertainment program (checked Oct 16, 2026).
Rough cost, three ways
We do not print cabin prices because they change daily. Fill the blanks from the fare page for your sailing.

What to do first
Check the voyage page for your date, hold a stateroom, and read the cancellation table before you buy flights. Then complete guest registration, because voyage tickets are not issued until it is done (checked Oct 16, 2026). Finally, line up a refundable hotel night in Nice so you can leave your bags and walk the old town before the 2:00 PM boarding start.
Three free things
- Walk the Nice waterfront before you board. Boarding generally begins at 2:00 PM, and luggage may not be accepted earlier (checked Oct 16, 2026), so the morning is yours. Stroll the seafront and the old town market streets at no cost. Photo: Promenade des Anglais in Nice with the sea on one side.
- Step off in Livorno on foot. On the sample sailing the ship docks in the city center, within walking distance of town and the train station (checked Oct 16, 2026). A canal-side walk costs nothing. Photo: The Venetian Quarter canals in Livorno.
- Use the watersports marina. Water sports equipment is included in the fare (checked Oct 16, 2026), and the marina platform extends from the aft of the yacht to the sea, offering sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding and snorkeling (checked Oct 16, 2026). How to pay with points
SeaDream sells through its own site and travel advisors, and the line's site does not mention the Chase, Capital One or Amex travel portals (not confirmed on https://www.seadream.com), so check each portal's cruise search before counting on it. Where points shine here is the flights: Chase, Amex, Capital One, Citi and Bilt all move points to Flying Blue at 1:1, which covers Paris-connected routes into Nice, and Chase, Amex and Capital One also reach British Airways at 1:1 (from PerkJolt's verified transfer chart, checked 2026-10-08; confirm on the program's transfer page before moving points). Rome-side, search a one-way home from Fiumicino airport the same way. Rule of thumb: if the cash fare divided by the points price gives you more than 1.5 cents per point (our working value, not an official figure), spend the points; if less, pay cash and keep them.
