Viking names seven new river ships for Rhine, Danube, Seine and Nile cruises

Viking announced the naming of seven new river ships in a release dated Oct. 15, 2026, honoring travel advisor partners. All seven are river ships, not ocean ships .

The release lists Viking Haki, Viking Halogi, Viking Sjofn and Viking Rota for the Rhine, Main and Danube, Viking Ptah and Viking Sekhmet for the Nile in Egypt, and Viking Fjolvar for the Seine. It says Viking Sekhmet "will also begin sailing in 2027." The ceremonies took place in Amsterdam, Les Andelys, Rostock and Luxor; those are naming locations, not necessarily where the ships sail.

The release does not give delivery years, itineraries or fares for the new ships. If you are booking a 2027 river cruise, check the itinerary pages for the ship name and sailing dates, and the cancellation terms (as of Oct 21, 2026; confirm on vikingrivercruises.com).
