Citi Strata Premier Card Review
Card details checked on citi.com on October 9, 2026; the welcome offer was last confirmed on citi.com on October 8, 2026. Offers change and can differ by where you see them, so confirm on Citi’s page before you apply. See our advertiser disclosure.
The short version
The Citi Strata Premier Card is one of the best values in travel rewards. For a $95 annual fee you get 3X points across five everyday categories, no foreign transaction fees, and Citi ThankYou points that transfer to airline and hotel partners. It has no lounge access or big luxury credits, and that is the point: it is a card most people can keep for years without doing math every month.
- Annual fee: $95, with no fee for authorized users
- Welcome offer: 60,000 bonus points after $4,000 in purchases in the first 3 months (as shown on citi.com October 8, 2026). Not available if you have or had a Citi Strata Premier or Citi Premier account.
- Best for: anyone who wants one solid points card for travel and everyday spending
- Skip it if: you want airport lounges or elite-style perks

How you earn
- 10X on hotels, car rentals and attractions booked on cititravel.com
- 3X on air travel and other hotel purchases
- 3X at restaurants
- 3X at supermarkets
- 3X at gas and EV charging stations
- 1X on everything else
Five 3X categories covers most of a typical household budget. Spend $1,500 a month across groceries, dining, gas and flights and you earn 54,000 points a year before the welcome bonus.

The $100 hotel benefit
Once per calendar year you get $100 off a single hotel stay of $500 or more (excluding taxes and fees) booked through cititravel.com or Citi’s travel phone line. The discount is applied at booking. If you take one longer hotel trip a year, this benefit more than covers the $95 fee by itself.

Using the points
ThankYou points transfer to partners including American Airlines, JetBlue, Virgin Atlantic, Cathay, EVA Air, Choice Hotels and The Leading Hotels of the World. American Airlines as a transfer partner is a standout for U.S. travelers. You can also book travel on cititravel.com, shop with points, or redeem for gift cards, though transfers usually stretch points further.
Our Citi ThankYou points guide explains the program, and the transfer partners chart lists where points can go. Check our news section for transfer bonuses, which Citi runs regularly.
